This revision of the base game introduces new Kingdom cards (7 of the 25 kingdom cards will be brand new to the game), Treasure cards, and Victory cards, as well as updates and clarifications. It also sports all-new cover art.
For those of you unfamiliar with Dominion, it is a game which inspired an entire genre of “deckbuilding” card games.
Dominion is, thematically, a card game about monarchs attempting to expand their kingdom. Mechanically, it is a deck-building game where players buy cards each turn to add to their decks, slowly growing more powerful as the game progresses.
Dominion (Second Edition) replaces six Kingdom card types from the first edition with six new types of Kingdom cards, while also replacing the blank cards in the game with a seventh new Kingdom card.
These new cards are available on their own in the Dominion: Update Pack. The rulebook has been rewritten, three cards have mild functional changes ("you may" added to Moneylender, Mine, Throne Room), and other cards have been rephrased (while remaining functionally the same).
The goal is to have the most victory points when the game ends.
