Handmade gouache by Stoneground Paint Co. is created by combining the world’s finest pigments and premium French chalk with a binder made from water, gum arabic, and wildflower honey. Gouache paint products differ from watercolour as they offer a opaque layer of colour, where watercolour is more transparent. Gouache is can be used over watercolour to suggest highlights, and is also noted for its matte, opaque finish when used on its own.
Stoneground Paint Co. Product Description :
Stoneground’s introductory Gouache ~ 12 palette contains a combination of warm and cool, modern and traditional colours, as well as four custom colours created by our in-house artists to round this palette into one perfect for landscape, floral, botanical, still life, and illustration work.
Gouache is a water-based media that dries to an opaque, matte finish. Colours can be applied in layers, artists refining and defining their painting as they work. Gouache can be diluted with water and used in wet-in-wet applications in the same manner as watercolour, however the chalk content in gouache means it won’t bloom or flow like watercolour paint. Gouache is lightened by adding white and can be layered from dark to light due to its opaque nature. Colours are easily mixed with one another and can be used interchangeably with Stoneground watercolour paint.
Gouache ~ 12 palette contains twelve half pans of our handmade gouache and is available in our hinged metal tin (measuring approximately 3 1/2” x 4”).
